ESPN college basketball analyst Len Elmore collapsed during a session of The Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics in Washington, D.C. Tuesday morning. According to Steve Berkowitz of USA Today, the Commission was meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel when Elmore collapsed near the end of a question and answer session.

Former Penn State administrator William Asbury alerted the room to Elmore’s condition. While he collapsed at 11:30 a.m. ET, he was on his feet about 15 minutes later after the paramedics finished seeing to him. He left the room shortly after that, accompanied by Knight Commission executive director, Amy Perko.

Commmission co-chair Gerald Turner, president of Southern Methodist University, said that Elmore has had similar episodes related to an ongoing health issue that he did not disclose. At about 1:45 p.m. ET, Perko said that Elmore was “fine”.

Elmore played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins and played for five teams in the NBA from 1974-85. Elmore earned a law degree from Harvard and has spent time as a player agent.
