Zeller, McDermott highlight Naismith Award Watch List
The 50-player watch list for the 2012-13 Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year award was announced on Tuesday.

Highlighted by the likes of Creighton junior Doug McDermott and Indiana sophomore Cody Zeller, the 50-player watch list was composed by the Atlanta Tipoff Club's Board of Selectors. The candidates were determined based upon performance last season, in addition to projected performance in the 2012-13 season.
In late February, the Board of Selectors will construct a mid-season list naming the top-30 players in the country, which will be narrowed down to four finalists in March by the Naismith Trophy voting academy. The award will be announced and presented to the finalist on April 7, 2013, in Atlanta.
Some notable players on the watch list include Ohio State juniors Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas, Murray State senior Isaiah Canaan and UCLA freshman Shabazz Muhammad.
