The Connecticut Huskies improved to 3-0 on the season with a 77-71 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Friday in the opening round of the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.

Ryan Boatright and Shabazz Napier each scored 16 points as UConn improved to 3-0 with a 77-71 win over Wake Forest Friday.


Ryan Boatright scored 16 points with five assists and three rebounds, Shabazz Napier had 16 points and Enosch Wolf scored 12 for the Huskies. Wolf also had nine rebounds and two assists and made all six of his field goals. DeAndre Daniels scored 12 points.
Wake Forest's shooting kept the Demon Deacons in the game. The team shot 6-for-13 from 3-point range compared to 3-for-21 3-point shooting by UConn. Codi Miller-McIntyre led all scorers with 21 points. C.J. Harris scored 17 points and Travis McKie had 16 points.
Connecticut had a big advantage at the free throw line. The Huskies shot 24-for-30 from the line while Wake Forest shot 12-for-23.
Wake Forest is now 1-1 on the season. UConn plays Stony Brook on Sunday. Wake Forest plays William & Mary on Nov. 23.
