No. 18 UNLV vs. Jacksonville State: Mike Moser’s double-double lifts Rebels to victory

The No. 18 UNLV Rebels used a strong first half to defeat Jacksonville State 77-58 Saturday night, handing the Gamecocks their first loss of the young season.

UNLV outscored Jacksonville State 32-14 in the first half. While the game was much closer in the second, the Rebels maintained their advantage and went on to win their second game of the season.

Forward Mike Moser paced the Rebels, scoring 19 points and adding 10 rebounds and four assists. Forward Anthony Bennett contributed 12 points and nine rebounds, while guard Justin Hawkins scored 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Guards Anthony Marshall and Katin Reinhardt each added 11 points in what was a team effort offensively for UNLV.
Guard Alex Anderson finished with 11 points and nine rebounds for the Gamecocks, and he was the only Jacksonville State player to reach double-digit scoring.

The Rebels held the Gamecocks to 38.9 percent shooting from the field while out-rebounding them 40-19 and making more free throws (24) than Jacksonville State attempted (17).
