No. 24 Cincinnati vs. North Carolina A&T final score: Bearcats trounce Aggies

The Cincinnati Bearcats held North Carolina A&T to abysmal shooting percentages and used Sean Kilpatrick’s red-hot night in a lopsided win.

Cincinnati wing Sean Kilpatrick scored 29 points for the Cincinnati Bearcats, and the No. 24 team in the nation held the North Carolina A&T Aggies to 16 percent shooting from the floor in a 93-39 rout on Sunday at Fifth Third Arena.

Kilpatrick scored in volume but did so with efficiency. He hit 10-of-15 from the floor, 8-of-12 from three-point range and added seven rebounds and five assists.

But Mick Cronin's team might have been most impressive on defense. The Bearcats had 15 steals and the Aggies committed 19 turnovers on the day. Cincinnati was led by Cashmere Wright's four steals, and the 6' guard also scored 13 points in a balanced attack from the Bearcats.

Meanwhile, the Aggies were led by Lamont Middleton's 11 points, but he needed 17 shots as the only double-figure scorer for A&T. Seven of the Aggies took at least two shots and didn't hit a field goal.

Six minutes into the game, the Bearcats led 14-0 before a free throw broke the scoreless streak for the Aggies. The rest of the game was the much of the same.

Perhaps the only thing that went wrong for Cincinnati was the foul shooting. The Bearcats got to the line 23 times but only connected on nine of those attempts for a 39 percent clip. Cincinnati shot 52 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three-point range.
