The Florida Gators took a while to pull away from the Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders, but they did eventually, winning 66-45 in Tampa. The Gators had only a three point lead at halftime, mostly as a result of some suspect shooting. They shot only 28 percent (7-25) from three point range, but did manage to out-rebound the Blue Raiders by a 29-22 margin.

Florida pulled away from Middle Tennessee State late in the second half for a 66-45 win. The game was played in the Tampa Bay Times Forum.


Kenny Boynton led the Gators with 20 points and five rebounds. Scott Wilbekin had 10 points and five rebounds, andWill Yeguete had nine points and eight rebounds in support.
The Blue Raiders had great difficulty putting the ball in the net. They shot less than 30 percent from the floor as a team, and had only two players with double digit points, Marcos Knight (12 points) and Shawn Jones (10 points). They were also only able to compile four assists as a team.
The Gators next play on Tuesday, when they host Savannah State. MTSU travels to Orlando on Tuesday to face UCF.
