A big first half propelled the Duke Blue Devils to an 88-67 win over the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Sunday night. Duke scored 52 points over the first 20 minutes and held a 22-point advantage at halftime.

The Blue Devils improved to 3-0 with an easy win over the Eagles.


Forward Mason Plumlee led the Blue Devils with 28 points on 9-11 shooting; he also hit 10 of 11 free throw attempts and pulled down six rebounds. Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon added 19 points on 5-13 shooting, including a 3-8 effort from beyond the three-point line. Seniors Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly also scored in double figures for Duke.
Florida Gulf Coast got 24 points from Bernard Thompson, who made nine of his 14 field goal attempts. Sherwood Brown was the only other Eagles player in double figures; he finished the night with 14 points.
Duke returns to action against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday. Florida Gulf Coast will host Alcorn State on Wednesday.
