College basketball rankings: Indiana still tops in latest AP Top 25 Poll

The Big Ten’s Indiana Hoosiers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines make up three of the country’s top four ranked teams early on. Louisville remains at No. 2.

The Indiana Hoosiers retain the top spot in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, and Ohio State and Michigan each move in the top four as the Big Ten stakes its early claim as the best conference in college basketball.

Indiana received 46 of a possible 65 first place votes this week as they continue to roll through their early non-conference schedule, defeating Sam Houston State on Thursday, 99-45. No. 2 Louisville received the other 19 votes.

No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Michigan are joined in the top five by Duke, whose jump in the polls came as a result of a 75-68 victory over the then No. 3 Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky dropped five spots to No. 8.

The top five will again see changes in the upcoming weeks, as Ohio State and Duke are slated to face-off Nov. 28 in the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Indiana and Michigan will face their first true challenges of the season that week as well, with the Hoosiers playing No. 9 North Carolina, and the Wolverines hosting No. 16 N.C. State.

No. 20 Oklahoma State and No. 23 Colorado represent the newcomers to the AP Top 25, replacing the recently defeated Wisconsin Badgers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Here is the complete AP Top 25 Poll.
