The sixth-ranked Syracuse Orange ran their 2012-13 record to 3-0 with a 73-53 win over the Princeton Tigers Wednesday at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse jumped out to a 36-25 halftime lead and methodically built on their advantage through the second half, culminating in the Orange's 20-point final advantage.

Syracuse was led by forward James Southerland, who came off the bench to score 22 points on 7-11 shooting. Southerland added five steals and four rebounds to his point total, and made four of six three-point attempts. C.J. Fair added 12 points and six rebounds, one of four Syracuse starters to score in double figures. Brandon Triche, Michael Carter-Williams and Rakeem Christmas each scored 10 for Syracuse.

Princeton got 11 points and four rebounds from center Brendan Connolly, with another 10 points and five assists from forward Ian Hummer, though Hummer did commit eight turnovers in the game. Guard Clay Wilson scored 15 points off the bench.

Syracuse returns to action Sunday afternoon against Colgate. Princeton, now 1-3 on the season, plays Lafayette on Saturday.
