The Virginia Commonwealth Rams advanced to the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis with a 78-65 win over No. 19 Memphis.

The VCU Rams advanced to face Duke with a 78-65 win against No. 19 Memphis.

VCU jumped out early, opening the game on a 12-4 run. Memphis pulled within five points at 16-11, but VCU answered with a 16-6 run to open up a double-digit lead. The Rams maintained that lead through the rest of the first half and led 42-28 at halftime.
Memphis opened the second half on a 7-0 run to pull within seven points, but once again VCU had an answer. The two teams traded runs during the second half with Memphis pulling within two points with four minutes to play. VCU made the last run, however, as the Rams closed the game on a 15-4 spurt to secure the victory.
Treveon Graham led the way for VCU with 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Rob Brandenberg was a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range off the bench.
Adonis Thomas scored 19 points for Memphis in the losing effort.
With the win, the Rams advance to play Duke in the semifinals while Memphis will face Minnesota in the consolation bracket.
