The Oregon Ducks improved to 5-0 with a 83-79 upset victory against No. 18 UNLV on Friday.

The Oregon Ducks pulled off a late run to upset No. 18 UNLV, 83-79.


The Ducks trailed 79-77 with just over a minute to play, but Oregon scored the final six points to pull off the upset. Carlos Emory tied the game at 79-79, then Damyean Dotson put Oregon ahead for good after Justin Hawkins missed a shot for UNLV. The Runnin' Rebels had a chance to tie the game with 10 seconds to play, but Anthony Marshall missed a layup, and Dotson sealed the game with two free throws.
The two teams went back and forth all game. Oregon opened a nine-point lead midway through the first half, but UNLV came back. The Ducks led, 40-37, at halftime, and the game was close for the entire second half. Dotson scored the last four points for Oregon and led the Ducks with 19 points. Emory and Ben Carter were big off the bench for Oregon, combining for 28 points.
UNLV's Anthony Bennett led all scorers with 22 points while also pulling down 10 rebounds. Katin Reinhardt scored 18 points for the Runnin' Rebels and made 4 of 8 three-point attempts. The loss is UNLV's first of the season as the Runnin' Rebels drop to 2-1 on the year.
