The UNLV Rebels fought off the Iowa State Cyclones to win, 82-70, in a consolation game of the Global Sports Classic in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The ranked Rebels bounced back from a loss to take down Iowa State on Saturday night.


A pair of back-to-back three-pointers from Iowa State guard Tyrus McGee made it just a five-point game with four minutes remaining, but the Cyclones wouldn't score again in over 1:30 of playing time as UNLV pulled away. Anthony Bennett led the Rebels in the win, scoring 22 points while knocking down 9 of 12 free throws and grabbing seven rebounds.
Mike Moser added 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Rebels, who moved to 3-1 and bounced back from Friday's loss to the Oregon Ducks. Anthony Marshall pitched in 16 points, including eight from the free throw line, as UNLV shot 28-35 from the charity stripe on the night.
Iowa State was led by Utah transfer Will Clyburn, who scored 21 points, including all eight of the Cyclones' free throws on the night. McGee added 12 off the bench on four three-pointers.
UNLV next plays UC Irvine on Nov. 28, while Iowa State hosts BYU on Dec. 1.
