No. 2 Duke vs. Delaware final score: Blue Devils crush Blue Hens, 88-50

The Duke Blue Devils had little trouble dispatching the Delaware Blue Hens with big men Ryan Kelly and Mason Plumlee leading the way.

US PRESSWIRE

Everything was on display for the Duke Blue Devils in their dominating 88-50 victory over the Delaware Blue Hens at home on Saturday afternoon. Duke scored points with ease, played strong defense and hit the glass to remain unbeaten in the young season.

The Blue Devils shot 52.2 percent from the field, including 7 of 20 from beyond the arc. Forward Mason Plumlee and Ryan Kelly provided much of the scoring with 18 points apiece. Plumlee also grabbed 11 of Duke's 46 rebounds. Guard Tyler Thornton filled up the stat sheet with three points, six rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in the contest.

For the Blue Hens, guard Devon Saddler scored a game-high 23 points. However, despite shooting nine free throws, Saddler needed 22 shots to score the total as Duke held Delaware to just 27.7 percent from the field. The Blue Hens also managed only three assists, not coming close to their average of 8.6 per game, which ranks 339th in the nation.

Duke continues its homestand against the Temple Owls next Saturday, while the Blue Hens will attempt to break their five-game losing streak when they face the Radford Highlanders on Tuesday.
