The No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes took care of business on Wednesday night, blasting the Savannah State Tigers, 85-45, at Value City Arena.

Deshaun Thomas scored 22 points as No. 7 Ohio State steamrolled Savannah State, 85-45, on Wednesday night.


Ohio State (7-1) trailed for a few minutes to start the game, but quickly exploded for a 14-2 run and never looked back. The Buckeyes opened up a 42-18 lead at halftime, and saw that lead balloon to as many as 42 points in the second half.
Deshaun Thomas' 22 points led a balanced offensive effort by Ohio State, which shot 47.5 percent from the field. The Buckeyes had six players score at least eight points, with four of those six scoring in double figures. Thomas added seven rebounds to go with his 22 points, while LaQuinton Ross had 13 points and 10 boards off the bench.
The Buckeyes also flexed their muscle on defense and the glass. Ohio State held Savannah State (5-5) to 37.0 percent shooting and forced 20 turnovers. The Buckeyes won the rebounding battle, 48-21, grabbing a whopping 19 offensive boards in the process.
