No. 7 Ohio State was firing on all cylinders Saturday against UNC-Asheville, as the Buckeyes throttled the Bulldogs 90-72 at Value City Arena.

No. 7 Ohio State shot 59 percent from the field in a 90-72 win over UNC-Asheville on Saturday.


Ohio State (8-1) shot a scorching 59 percent from the field in the victory. The Buckeyes used their red-hot shooting to grab a 50-35 lead at halftime and cruised in the second half.
Sam Thompson was one of four Buckeyes to score in double figures, leading the way with 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Deshaun Thomas notched a double-double, scoring 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting while also pulling down 10 rebounds. Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and Evan Ravenel chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds.
UNC-Asheville (3-7) managed to keep the game from getting completely out of hand thanks to some early hot shooting of their own. The Bulldogs ultimately cooled down, but Keith Hornsby did finish with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting and 6-of-8 from three-point land.
