The No. 11 Cincinnati Bearcats used a big second half to grab a solid 72-56 win on the road over the Marshall Thundering Herd on Saturday. The Bearcats moved to 10-0 on the season with the victory.

No. 11 Cincinnati came alive in the second half to pull away from Marshall in a 72-56 victory on Saturday.


Both teams struggled in an ugly first half. The Bearcats shot just 34.2 percent in the half and went 1-of-11 from three-point land. However, Cincinnati held a 29-25 lead at the break thanks to 12 Marshall turnovers.
The Bearcats’ offense came alive in the second half, outscoring the Thundering Herd 43-31. Cincinnati’s field goal percentage rose to 44.6 percent after the woeful first half, and they went 5-of-6 from three in the second half. The Bearcats also did work on the offensive glass, grabbing 15 offensive rebounds on the day.
Cashmere Wright led Cincinnati with 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting and 4-of-7 from long range. Sean Kilpatrick had 12 points and six rebounds, while Justin Jackson added 10 points.
Marshall got strong performances from both D.D. Scarver and Elijah Pittman in the loss, with each player scoring a game-high 20 points.
