No. 21 UNLV Runnin' Rebels held off a late push from the UTEP Miners Monday night to come away with a victory on the road, 62-60.

UTEP’s rally fell short as UNLV escaped with a victory on the road.


The Runnin' Rebels led by nine points at half, but were outscored by seven in the second half. Miners guard Jacques Streeter made two layups in the final minute to bring it within two. UNLV guard Bryce Dejean-Jones missed both his free throws with 16 seconds left to give UTEP one last chance, but Konner Tucker missed a three-pointer as time expired.
Dejean-Jones led UNLV with 12 points but was 5-for-14 from the field and 2-5 from the three-point. He added six rebounds and five assists. Three other UNLV players scored in double figures.
Julian Washburn led the Miners and all scorers with 13 points and eight rebounds, but struggled from the field with the rest of UTEP. The Miners shot just 40.4 percent from the field.
UNLV stayed undefeated on the road with the win and handed UTEP its first home loss of the season.
