The Louisville Cardinals beat the Florida International Golden Panthers, 79-55, on Wednesday in the Billy Minardi Classic. Rick Pitino picked up a win over his son, who coaches FIU.

It was the first time the father-son pair ever faced each other on the sidelines, and the elder Pitino’s Louisville squad led from start to finish in the Billy Minardi Classic.
Four out of the Cardinals' five starters scored in double figures to contribute to a balanced attack. Wayne Blackshear led the charge with a game-high 18 points, while Chane Behanan poured in a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
As a team, the Cardinals shot 49 percent for the game, including 12-of-32 from three-point range. Florida International shot just 33 percent, led by Tymell Murphy's 12 points.
The Golden Panthers tallied just six assists to 14 turnovers and 21 made baskets.
Louisville next plays Western Kentucky on Saturday before a big matchup with Kentucky a week later.
