The No. 18 Butler Bulldogs used a big second half to defeat the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville, 68-49.

The Bulldogs held the Commodores to 33.3% shooting from the field en route to Butler’s fifth victory away from home.


The Commodores kept things close through the first half, as the Bulldogs only entered the break with a three-point advantage. However, Butler broke things open in the game's second stanza, outscoring Vanderbilt 43 to 27 to seal the road victory.
The Bulldogs were led by sharpshooter Rotnei Clarke, as the senior guard scored 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor, including a 6-of-9 effort from three-point range. Forward Khyle Marshall contributed nine points and 11 rebounds while guard Kellen Dunham shot 4-of-8 from the field to finish with 12 points.
Commodores guard Kyle Fuller was the only Vanderbilt player to reach double-digits. He finished with 10 points, while Kedren Johnson and Shelby Moats added nine and eight apiece.
Butler’s next game will take place next year, as they host the Penn Quakers on Wednesday night. Vanderbilt also plays Wednesday night, as they’ll welcome the William & Mary Tribe.
