The Creighton Bluejays cruised to an easy win on Saturday night.

The No. 16 Creighton Bluejays quite easily dispatched the Evansville Aces on Saturday night, 87-70, to move to 12-1 on the season and open Missouri Valley Conference play 1-0.

The Bluejays were led by Doug McDermott, who finished with 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting, to a 45-34 lead at halftime in a game that Evansville never truly threatened. The Aces would not get closer than nine points in the second half, with Creighton building as much as a 20-point lead before cruising to the win.

Evansville forward Colt Ryan led all teams with 25 points and four rebounds, going 9-of-20 from the floor. Guard Troy Taylor was the only other Aces player to reach double digits on the scoresheet, with Taylor also adding ten rebounds and ten assists in the game.

Creighton center Gregory Echenique grabbed 14 total rebounds in the game while adding 13 points, while McDermott also added 10 rebounds and two assists to his point totals.

The Bluejays next face the Illinois State Redbirds at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
