No. 4 Syracuse defeated Eastern Michigan on Tuesday night, 84-48, behind a strong defensive effort from the Orange.

The Syracuse Orange rolled Tuesday night against the Eastern Michigan Eagles, dominating the game both offensively and defensively.


Syracuse held Eastern Michigan to a 29.5 percent shooting percentage from the field, and 21.1 percent from behind the three-point line. The Orange also forced Eastern Michigan into 23 turnovers compared to only 10 assists and won the rebounding battle 32 to 43.
Five players scored in double-digits for Syracuse, three of which were freshman. DeJuan Coleman led the way with 14 points in 22 minutes of action, while Jerami Grant and Trevor Cooney each scored 11 points.
Sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists, adding seven rebounds as well.
No. 4 Syracuse moves to 6-0 on the season following the win, while Eastern Michigan falls to 5-2.
The Orange are one of two remaining undefeated teams in the Big East, along with the Cincinnati Bearcats. Their next matchup comes Thursday against Long Beach State, which sits at 3-3 following consecutive losses to USC, North Carolina and Arizona.
