The 25th-ranked Kansas St. Wildcats defeated the South Dakota Coyotes, 70-50, on Monday afternoon in the final match-up of 2012 for each team. Despite a performance filled with turnovers and fouls, the Wildcats rode a strong defensive effort and solid rebounding to a relatively easy victory.
No. 25 Kansas State vs. South Dakota final score: Wildcats win an easy one, 70-50
Despite a performance filled with unnecessary mistakes, Kansas State easily topped South Dakota on Monday afternoon.

While the Wildcats struggled badly with turnovers, losing possession on 17 different occasions, they also dominated the boards and shot significantly better than the Coyotes. Not a single South Dakota player shot better than 50 percent from the field, making it rather difficult for the Coyotes to keep up with a nationally-ranked squad.
Nino Williams led all scorers with 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting, plus Rodney McGruder added 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Shane Southwell had an up-and-down game for the Wildcats, scoring 12 points and dishing six assists but committing five turnovers.
The Wildcats improve to 11-2 overall with the win, with those two defeats coming against then-No.14 Gonzaga and then-No. 4 Michigan. K-State begins Big 12 play on Jan. 5 with a home match-up against No. 22 Oklahoma State.
