The No. 5 Louisville Cardinals had little trouble dispatching of the Charleston Cougars on Tuesday night, using a 36-point first half to cruise to an 80-38 victory.

Wayne Blackshear and Louisville jumped out to an early lead on Charleston and never looked back, plastering the Cougars, 80-38.


Cardinals guard Wayne Blackshear led Louisville with 18 points and added three steals to help silence the Cougars from TD Bank Arena in Charleston. Guard Russ Smith added 13 points and four assists to the Cardinals' haul on the night.
Four Louisville players scored in double figures to hold off any sort of charge from Charleston and center Adjehi Baru, who scored 16 and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Charleston forward Matt Sundberg added four points and six rebounds off the bench while no other Cougars player recorded more than seven points or two rebounds against Louisville.
Louisville raced out to a 16-point lead in the first half and extended the lead to 23 after guard Peyton Siva, who finished with 12 points, and forward Chane Behanan, who finished with 10 points and six rebounds, scored key buckets late.
