The Michigan State Spartans scored the first 14 points and jumped out to a 33-5 lead en route to a 76-44 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Wednesday. The Spartans, ranked No. 19 this week, improve to 7-2 with the win. Arkansas-Pine Bluff falls to 1-7 on the season.

Michigan State shot an even 50% from the field, making 28 of their 56 attempts. Freshman guard Gary Harris led the way with 13 points. Travis Tice added 12 points and five assists, and Branden Dawson scored 10 points while leading the team with seven rebounds. Ten different Spartans scored, and head coach Tom Izzo used 13 different players.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff forward DaVon Haynes, playing in his home state, led all scorers with 20 points. Haynes, a transfer from Bowling Green, is a product of Detroit. Mitchell Anderson added nine points, but shot just 3-for-16 on a night where the Golden Lions shot just 27.4% from the field.
Michigan State returns to action Saturday night against Loyola-Illinois.
