No. 18 New Mexico improved to 9-0 on Wednesday with a 75-67 win against Southern California.

USC made a late charge, but New Mexico was able to hang on for the 75-67 win.


The Lobos used a late first-half run to build a double-digit lead and were then able to hang on for the win despite a late run by USC. New Mexico led, 43-34, at halftime and led by 17 points with less than 12 minutes to play. The Trojans made a run to cut the Lobos’ lead into single digits, but were unable get closer than five points.
After USC cut New Mexico's lead to 70-65 with 2:18 to play, Kendall Williams hit a three-pointer to put New Mexico back up eight and seal the victory. Williams, who finished with 13 points, was one of three players who scored in double figures for New Mexico. Hugh Greenwood led the way for the Lobos with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
The loss dropped the Trojans to 3-5 on the season. Eric Wise led USC with 14 points. New Mexico's bench outscored USC's bench, 17-7.
