The Louisville Cardinals had absolutely no problem with the UMKC Kangaroos on Saturday afternoon, winning by a score of 99-47. The Cardinals never trailed once during the game, and had more than double UMKC's points for most of the second half. Louisville came up just short of scoring 100 points for the first time this season.

The Louisville Cardinals had no problem blowing by UMKC, 99-47, paced by Russ Smith’s 31 points.


Russ Smith exploded for 31 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals, and also shot 12-18 from the floor. Luke Hancock had 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Montrezl Harrell had 14 points and seven rebounds. The Cardinals shot over 56 percent from the floor as a team, and over 44 percent from behind the three point line.
The Kangaroos shot under 27 percent from the floor as a team, and were outrebounded 37-25. They also turned the ball over a disastrous 22 times, compared to Louisville's 12. Trinity Hall and Nelson Kirksey led UMKC with nine points each.
The Cards next play next Saturday, when they travel to Memphis to take on the Tigers.
