No. 12 Missouri vs. Tennessee State final score: Strong second half carries Mizzou to a 68-38 win

Missouri won its fourth game in a row on Saturday.

Laurence Bowers had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead Missouri over Tennessee State, 68-38, on Saturday.

Missouri struggled in the first half for the second consecutive game as they scored a season-low 23 points to take a 23-20 lead over Tennessee State at the break. Missouri’s previous low for the first half this season was 30, a feat they accomplished versus Virginia Commonwealth on Nov. 24.

Missouri was also down 45-35 to Southeast Missouri State in its previous game before outscoring the Redhawks 46-20 in the second half to earn a 16-point win.

Missouri opened the second half versus Tennessee State with a 17-6 run to take a 39-26 lead with 10:43 remaining to build a double-digit lead that they did not relinquish for the rest of the game.

Missouri outscored Tennessee State 45-18 in the second half.

The win was Missouri’s fourth in a row as they improved to 8-1 on the season. The loss snapped Tennessee State’s three-game winning streak as they fell to 4-6 on the season.

Robert Covington led Tennessee State in scoring with 12 points.
