College basketball schedule: Creighton only ranked team playing on Friday

None of the Power Six conferences have any games scheduled, so the MVC gets center stage.

Eric Francis

It’s slim pickings for college hoops action on Friday, as all of the major games are slated for the weekend.

No. 13 Creighton, who travels to Missouri State, is the only nationally ranked team in action. The Bluejays, who sport a 15-1 overall mark and a 4-0 record in conference, haven’t been tested much in MVC play so far.

Missouri State has only a 5-11 record, but three of those wins have come in their last four games, as they are only a game behind Creighton in the MVC standings.

The Bluejays are lead by Wooden Award candidate Doug McDermott, a 6-foot-8, 225 pound forward whose been putting up video game numbers this season. McDermott is averaging 22.6 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 49 percent from three-point range.

ESPNU has the only national TV games: a game from the MAAC -- Fairfield vs. Loyola (MD) -- and the Horizon -- Wright State vs. Loyola (IL).
