With the prospect of falling to 0-2 in the Mountain West seeming more and more probable, Bryce Dejean-Jones stepped to the line with time winding down in regulation, trying to keep No. 24 UNLV afloat in the national conversation. He calmly sank both free throws to send the game into overtime, where the Rebels eventually pulled out the 76-71 win over Air Force.

In overtime, Dejean-Jones again provided the heroics. He hit a jumper with 16 seconds left to put UNLV up for good and finished with 18 points off the bench.

UNLV held an eight-point lead at halftime, but the Falcons chipped away over the first 14 minutes of the second half before grabbing the lead on a Kyle Green three with 5:44 to go. Green came off the bench to score eight points. From there, the teams traded baskets through the end of regulation. With Air Force up two, UNLV's Anthony Bennett missed two free throws with 48 seconds left, but an offensive rebound allowed Dejean-Jones to eventually make the tying foul shots.

Bennett finished with a double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Mike Moser added 14 and 11 boards for the Rebels.

Mike Fitzgerald had 22 points for Air Force in the losing effort, and Michael Lyons added 19.
