It wasn't quite a shocker, but it will go down as an upset as the Wichita State Shockers knocked off the No. 12 Creighton Bluejays, 67-64, Saturday afternoon in Wichita, Kan.

The Shockers led the entire first half as the hostile crowd in Wichita willed the home team in the early going. Feeding off the fans, the Shockers withstood a tough three-point shooting performance (4-for-23) and took care of the ball, turning it over just six times.

The Bluejays took their first lead of the game with 11:41 to go in the game off a jumper from Austin Chatman. That was part of a 10-2 Creighton run that took less than four minutes of game time. The teams then traded baskets as the day's most high-profile game in the Missouri Valley winded down.

With just over seven seconds left, Hall had a chance to seal the game for Wichita State. With the Shockers up three, however, he missed a free throw, giving Creighton some life. When Wichita State failed to commit a foul on the final possession, Ethan Wragge hoisted a three at the buzzer that rimmed out.

Creighton's National Player of the Year contender Doug McDermott led all scorers with 25 points. Carl Hall came off the bench to lead the Shockers with 17. Next week, Wichita State will have a pretty good case to return to the Top 25, as they now sit tied for first in the league.
