Bowers has been sidelined since Jan. 5, when he suffered a sprained right knee against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Tigers have struggled without the senior, losing two of the three games he's missed, including a 31-point loss to the Florida Gators last weekend.
After missing the 2011-12 season with a torn ACL, Bowers has emerged as a star for the Tigers. He currently leads the team in points per game (16.8) and he’s second in rebounds per game (6.9), plus he’s adding over a block per contest.
The 6’8” forward has also been incredibly consistent this season when he’s been able to play, never shooting below 50 percent from the field in each of his first 14 games this season. It’s particularly impressive for a player that spent an entire season watching from the sidelines.
