Michael Carter-Williams reminds everyone he can do more than pass

We already knew that Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams could pass. Now we know that can absolutely slam down a dunk on occasion, too.

USA TODAY Sports

Syracuse Orange point guard Michael Carter-Williams is generally known for two things: his size and his passing ability. On Monday, the sophomore treated fans to another reason why he's such an intriguing young player: he can really throw down a slam dunk.

Late in the first half of Syracuse's game against the Cincinnati Bearcats, Carter-Williams found an easy path to the basket against a weak zone defense, and threw down a dunk worthy of being replayed many, many times.

Scouts have always loved how the guard’s unique size - he stands 6’6” - helps his court vision, but it also makes him capable of some impressive finishes at the rim. Even as Carter-Williams has struggled with his shot this season, making just 37 percent of his shots from the field, plays like this leave some optimism that he can find other ways to score.

This season, Carter-Williams is averaging 12.1 points per game, 9.3 assists per game, 4.8 rebounds per game and 3.2 steals per game. Few players in the nation can match his ability to stuff the box score.
