Just four days after Butler’s dramatic win over Gonzaga, the Bulldogs went to La Salle and were upset after a layup in the final seconds.

Just four days after their thrilling win over Gonzaga, the Butler Bulldogs were back at it on Wednesday and found themselves in another close one. This time, on the road against the La Salle Explorers, the late-game heroics would come from the other side.

La Salle's Ramon Galloway made a layup with just over two seconds left to give the Explorers the 54-53 win, coming quickly after a go-ahead shot from Andrew Smith for the Bulldogs.

La Salle got 16 points from Tyreek Duren to hold off Butler in a game where the Bulldogs won the rebound battle, 28-21, and shot 49 percent compared to just 41 percent for the Explorers.

Smith paced the Bulldogs with 16 points. Kellen Dunham (15 points) and Roosevelt Jones (14) also scored in double figures for Butler.

Butler was again without Rotnei Clarke, who was still out after suffering a frightening neck injury against Dayton several weeks back.
