UCLA Bruins freshman Shabazz Muhammad wore a backpack that appeared to be made by Gucci during post-game interviews Thursday, and UCLA's compliance department is investigating.

The last backpack to get this much attention was Kevin Durant’s.

Peter Yoon of ESPNLosAngeles.com reported that men’s backpacks on Gucci’s website range in price from $990 to $2,370.
Yoon also had a quote from Bruins coach Ben Howland:
“Our compliance is handling it,” coach Ben Howland said. “They’re very professional and we’re aware of the situation.”
Yahoo! Sports columnist Pat Forde was the first to mention the backpack. Muhammad’s sister, Asia Muhammad, tweeted directly at Forde to tell the family’s side of the story. She said the backpack was a gift from her and her mother.
Ron Holmes, Muhammad’s father, also told Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times that the backpack was a gift from Muhammad’s sister and mother.
Muhammad scored 23 points for the Bruins in an 84-73 upset over the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday night just before donning the backpack to interviews. He's averaging 18.2 points per game, and draftexpress.com has him as the No. 1 overall pick in its most recent 2013 mock draft.
