Georgetown was forced to stop Louisville twice at the end of regulation, after referees controversially signaled a jump-ball, despite the fact that the Hoyas looked to be fouled while having control of the ball. Cardinals guard Peyton Siva, who did not score a point in the game, took the final shot and missed, enabling Georgetown to once again secure the rebound and close out the game.

Otto Porter had another fantastic game, leading Georgetown with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Markel Starks pitched in 17 points of his own while making 7-of-16 shots.

Luke Hancock, Gorgui Dieng and Russ Smith each finished with 12 points for the Cardinals, who lost their third straight game.
