Wisconsin played its typical brand of possession-oriented basketball, which severely limited the offensive effectiveness of Minnesota, which ranks in the upper eighth of college basketball teams in scoring. The approach clearly paid off for the Badgers, with only Andre Hollins, who scored 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, able to get going offensively for the Gophers.
Ryan Evans and Sam Dekker led the Badgers with 10 points apiece. Despite emerging as the game's hero, Jackson finished with just nine.
Minnesota will attempt to avoid losing its fifth straight game as it returns home to face Nebraska on Tuesday, while Wisconsin has a date with Ohio State in Columbus.
