No. 22 Missouri vs. Vanderbilt final score: Tigers dominate Commodores, 81-59

Missouri used an early 32-2 run to blow by the Vanderbilt Commodores at home on Saturday, en route to a 81-59 win.

It had been an up-and-down start to the Missouri Tigers' inaugural SEC season, but there was never much of a doubt on Saturday that this would be a big step in the right direction. Missouri dominated the Vanderbilt Commodores at home, blowing them out 81-59.

The Commodores led 11-8 early on, before Missouri went on a monstrous 32-2 run spanning about 12 minutes to take control of the game and eventually a commanding 49-20 lead into the locker room.

Vanderbilt opened the second half on an 11-2 run, but that did little more than bring the score closer to respectability.

Missouri's inside-out threat of guard Jabari Brown and forward Alex Oriakhi led the charge. Brown paced the Tigers with 21 points, while Oriakhi scored 18 and hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds. Overall, the battle of the boards wasn't even close. Missouri out-muscled Vanderbilt by a count of 39-17.

Rod Odom had 17 points to lead the Commodores.

Vanderbilt drops to 8-10 (2-4 SEC) with the loss to start off a stretch of three out of four games away from home. Missouri has now won three out of four.
