No. 17 Creighton vs. Southern Illinois final score: Bluejays dominate Salukis, 81-51
Doug McDermott scored 21 points to lead No. 17 Creighton past Southern Illinois in a blowout on Sunday night.

Doug McDermott led the way as usual, scoring 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting while also grabbing 10 rebounds. The nation's second-leading scorer has tallied double figures in every single game but one on the season. McDermott scored 16 of his 21 points in the first half as the Bluejays (18-3, 7-2 MVC) built an 18-point lead at the break.
McDermott's performance was part of a dynamite offensive effort overall from the Bluejays, who shot 63 percent from the field and went 12-of-20 from 3-point land. Four other Bluejays reached double-digits in scoring, and the trio of Grant Gibbs, Gregory Echenique and Jahenns Manigat missed just one shot in 15 attempts. Echenique notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Southern Illinois (8-12, 1-8 MVC) struggled to do much of anything right all night, shooting just 37 percent from the field and getting out-rebounded 37-17. Desmar Jackson was the only Saluki to reach double figures, scoring 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting.
