Behind a 51-point first half and Trey Burke's 23 points, the Michigan Wolverines ran away Thursday night from the Northwestern Wildcats in early Big Ten conference action, 94-66.

Michigan jumped out to an early lead as Burke and Glenn Robinson III combined to account for 16 of the Wolverines' first 18 points. Up 20-4 with less than 10 minutes gone in the first half, the Wolverines were able to coast to a 21-point advantage after the first half.

Northwestern's Jared Swopshire, who finished with 11 points on the night, and Alex Marcotullio, who finished with 5 points, both hit three-pointers near the start of the second half to help pull the Wildcats to within 17, but the Wolverines' lead would not be threatened on the night.

Robinson and Burke, along with Tim Hardaway Jr., 21 points, again lit up the scoreboard early in the period, giving the Wolverines more than enough to run away with the win as Jordan Morgan's 13 rebounds kept Northwestern bottled up all night. Northwestern forward Kale Abrahamson finished with 11 points in the loss.
