Ohio State has lost three straight games against ranked opponents this season, falling to No. 11 Illinois on Saturday, 74-55.

Brandon Paul scored 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field to lead Illinois over Ohio State, 74-55, on Saturday.

Ohio State trailed at half for just the second time this season as Illinois led 37-25 after 20 minutes. The only other time the Buckeyes trailed at half was against Kansas when they fell behind by two points at the break.

Illinois opened the second half on a 16-4 run to extend its lead to 53-29 with 11:58 remaining in the game. Illinois outscored Ohio State, 37-30, in the second half to secure the win.

Deshaun Thomas led Ohio State with 24 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field. The Buckeyes as a team shot just 33.3 percent from the floor. Thomas didn't get much help from his supporting cast.

The Buckeyes have yet to beat a ranked team this season as they also lost to No. 9 Kansas and No. 2 Duke earlier this year.

Ohio State and Illinois are now both 1-1 in conference play.
