No. 1 Duke vs. Clemson final score: Devils roll at Cameron

A stifling Duke defense held Clemson to only 10 first-half points in a 68-40 victory that was never competitive.

USA TODAY Sports

While it wasn't pretty for large stretches, the Duke Blue Devils did exactly what the No. 1 team is supposed to do on Tuesday. They got to a huge early lead on the Clemson Tigers and never looked back from there, cruising to a 68-40 home win at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The story of the game was the Blue Devils defense, as they got out to a 25-10 halftime lead. They held the Tigers to 28.3% shooting from the floor, with only one Clemson player, Devin Booker, scoring in double-figures.

On offense, Duke was paced by point guard Quinn Cook, who was coming off a scoreless game against Wake Forest. Cook had 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting while handing out 5 assists on only 1 turnover.

Mason Plumlee, one of the front-runners for the Wooden Award, had an uncharacteristically-poor scoring night with only 8 points, but he balanced that out with 13 rebounds and 5 assists.

The win moves Duke to 15-0 in the season before a huge road showdown at the No. 20 N.C. State Wolfpack on Saturday.
