Missouri’s football team didn’t have the most successful debut in the SEC, but their basketball team may be able to pick up the slack this season.
No. 10 Missouri vs. Alabama final score: Tigers pull away late
Missouri’s offense carried them to an 84-68 victory in their SEC basketball debut on Tuesday night.

The No. 10 team in the country held off a tough Alabama squad in a 84-68 victory in Columbia on Tuesday, pulling away in the last few minutes to pad their margin of victory.
The Crimson Tide pride themselves on their defense, but they had no answer for an explosive Tigers offense quarterbacked by lightning-quick PG Phil Pressey. Pressey went wherever he wanted on the court, distributing the ball as he racked up a double-double with 11 points and 13 assists.
Four different Missouri players scored at least 16 points, as Laurence Bowers, Alex Oriakhi, Earnest Ross and Jabari Brown all benefited from a strong night from their PG.
Alabama was kept in the game thanks to a strong effort from Trevor Releford, who had 26 points on 8-14 shooting. However, no one else scored over 11 points, which wasn't enough offense for them to keep up with Missouri, especially on the Tigers home court.
