Kentucky Wildcats sophomore forward Willie Cauley-Stein has been noted in recent interviews for his individuality and interests outside of basketball — here's one from USA Today, and here's another from the Lexington Herald-Leader — and said qualities were on display at Kentucky's media day Tuesday. In a video interview with Kyle Tucker of the Louisville Courier-Journal, Cauley-Stein noted he plans on surviving the inevitable zombie apocalypse not by sheer luck, but because he's thought it out and he knows what to do and how to do it.

From the video interview with Tucker, who asked if Cauley-Stein has a survival kit ready:
No. It’s all mental. I don’t need no kit. I just need a couple of weapons, and I’m good.
Perhaps the most illuminating and damning detail from the interview is that the Wildcat Coal Lodge—the team-only, brand new dorm in Lexington that cost over $8 million to build, according to Jerry Tipton of the Lexington Herald-Leader—is not properly fortified in the event of a zombie attack. Again, from the interview with Tucker, which is a must-watch:
There’s only a few ways out, and there’s too much glass. There’s too much glass windows. You can’t get past that.
Cauley-Stein attributed much of his zombie knowledge to The Walking Dead, the AMC series that just started its fourth season. Freshman teammate Marcus Lee told Tucker he'll stick with Cauley-Stein when the undead rise to take over Kentucky's second-largest city, because this is something that not only has Cauley-Stein thought about himself, but he's also shared it with his teammates.
And apparently Lee knows the eighth rule of surviving the zombie apocalypse is finding a kick-ass partner, and how much more kick-ass could a partner be than a 7-footer who can run the floor and score in the post?
