As Duke sort of opened its 2013-14 season with an exhibition game against Bowie State on Saturday, there was little question about which player Blue Devil fans - and the rest of the college basketball world - were most eager to see.
Jabari Parker provides first highlight reel dunk as a Duke Blue Devil

Freshman forward Jabari Parker, who once appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated along with the title of “best high school basketball player since LeBron James,” missed a solid chunk of his senior season of high school ball thanks to a nagging foot injury. Although anyone who saw him play over the summer raved about his ability, Parker’s health was still a “believe it when I see it” situation for some folks in Durham.
If you fast forward to the 1:00 mark on the video below, I think you’ll agree that the foot looks just fine.
Parker finished the game with 16 points and five assists in just 24 minutes for Duke, which won easily by a final score of 103-67. Mississippi State transfer Rodney Hood led the Blue Devils with 19 points.
