Ole Miss will be without star guard Marshall Henderson for the first three games of the season, as the team announced that his indefinite suspension has been switched to three regular season games.

Henderson was suspended indefinitely in July for reportedly failing multiple drug tests.

The reason for Henderson's suspension was listed by the team as due to his "total conduct during the 2012-13 season, SEC and NCAA Tournaments, and his behavior since the end of the season." However, reports have indicated that the mid-July suspension he received was for multiple failed drug tests. Henderson was also reportedly caught with marijuana and cocaine during a July traffic stop.
Henderson, 23, was the leading scorer for the Rebels last season with 20.1 points per game. He helped lead the team to a victory in the SEC conference title, earning the SEC Tournament MVP award before leading an upset of No. 5-seeded Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament.
Ole Miss is scheduled to begin their season on Nov. 8 against Troy before playing conference games against Auburn and Mississippi State. Henderson is set to make his debut against Coastal Carolina on Nov. 16.
