Damontre Harris off Florida basketball team for now, Billy Donovan says

The junior transfer from South Carolina has yet to see the court this season, suspended by his coach for unknown reasons.

Florida big man Damontre Harris' suspension from the team continues, according to Gary Parrish of CBS Sports. Coach Billy Donovan suspended the 6'10 forward before the season, saying Harris is "not accountable at all and not responsible enough." The coach also said that the junior would have to work his way back onto the team, indicating it may be a while before he makes his debut.

Harris transferred from South Carolina after the 2011-2012 season, sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules. In his last season as a Gamecock, the South Carolina native became a force down low. Harris averaged nearly seven points to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, and ultimately decided to continue his college career under Billy Donovan.

No. 11 Florida has struggled to put players on the court this year, with Dorian Finney-Smith and Scottie Wilbekin suspended as well. Finney-Smith has been reinstated, but Wilbekin hasn't, and the Gators will have a tough time without a pair of key players as the conference season approaches. The Gators already suffered a loss in their first test of the season, falling on Tuesday to No. 20 Wisconsin, 59-53.

The Gators play Arkansas-Little Rock Saturday.
