LSU has acquired the rights of junior college player Josh Gray, according to Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports. Gray played at Texas Tech as a freshman before moving to Florida to play community college ball. The Tigers are the latest in a laundry-list of schools that have courted Gray.

The point guard has had a turbulent career, unable to land at a school with a stable coaching situation.

According to Borzello, Gray had offers from UNLV, Illinois, Texas A&M, Providence, Marquette and Missouri but chose to play in Baton Rouge. But before this most recent round of recruiting, the point guard had bounced around to an insane degree.
After committing to Mississippi State out of high school, Gray decided against playing there when the coach left. After his freshman season at Texas Tech, head coach Billy Gillispie resigned. Gray chose to go the JuCo route, playing in Florida for Odessa Junior College. Even when he decided to transfer out of Odessa, his indecisiveness plagued him again. The 6’1 point guard committed to Florida State in September, only to withdraw last month.
Gray joins a team that is rebuilding. LSU hasn’t had much success lately, but has a crop of stellar recruits for the next two seasons. By 2015, the Tigers could have their best team since Glen Davis and Tyrus Thomas left for the NBA.
