Iowa State vs. UMKC final score: Cyclones stay unbeaten in 59-point laugher

Five Cyclones scored in double figures, led by 20 points from DeAndre Kane.

Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

In a week where several Top 25 teams have struggled against seemingly overmatched competition, No. 17 Iowa State led from start to finish in a 110-51 blowout of Missouri-Kansas City on Monday in Ames.

Five Cyclones scored in double figures, including DeAndre Kane who dropped 20 points in just 20 minutes of play. Freshman Sherron Dorsey-Walker had 17 points off the bench after recording just one field goal in his young collegiate career before Monday.

Iowa State left little doubt in this one, scoring eight points in the first 1:43, started by a three from Georges Niang on the game's first possession. The Cyclones shot 51 percent overall and were 12-32 from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, UMKC struggled to get anything going offensively. The Kangaroos turned the ball over 17 times and shot under 30 percent for the game. Martez Harrison led UMKC with 14 points in the losing effort.

Iowa State improved to 5-0 with the win and has scored 90 or more three times. The Cyclones host Auburn next Monday as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
