Coaching an undefeated team ranked No. 14 in the country has its benefits. Oregon head coach Dana Altman has received a three-year extension that secures his job through the 2019-2020 season. Currently in his fourth season as Ducks coach, Altman has Oregon on the rise and in the national title picture.

Having revamped a struggling program, the head coach has been rewarded with three years added to his contract.

Last season, Altman led Oregon to its first Sweet Sixteen birth since 2007. The Ducks lost to eventual champion Louisville, but their tournament wins were indicative of the turnaround the basketball program has made in Eugene. Altman took a team that finished with 16 regular season wins in 2010 and propelled them to 26 last season. Oregon is back to being an elite Pac-12 squad and is poised to make a deep run in March.
Altman, 55, was the head coach in Creighton for 16 seasons before agreeing to move out West. Before that, he was at the helm for Kansas State and Marshall.
