Syracuse vs. Baylor final score: Orange win Maui Invitational, 74-67

In the final of the Maui Invitational, C.J. Fair scored 24 points for the Orange.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

No. 8 Syracuse won the Maui Invitational Wednesday night, holding off No. 18 Baylor, 74-67. C.J. Fair and Jerami Grant combined to score 43 for the Orange, who also beat Minnesota and Cal en route to their third Maui Invitational title.

Trevor Cooney hit a jumper with just over 12 minutes left in the first half to give Syracuse an 18-16 lead, one they would never relinquish. Baylor made a late push to get within four, but Grant and Fair combined for 16 points in the final ten minutes to close out the Bears.

The turnover battle was key for Syracuse, who gave the ball up just seven times. Syracuse stole the ball eleven times from Baylor. The Bears finished with 20 turnovers.

Freshman point guard Tyler Ennis finished with 11 points and nine assists for the Orange, just shy of his first career double-double. Four Baylor players scored in double digits, led by Cory Jefferson's 15.

Along with Gonzaga, Syracuse and Baylor were the only nationally-ranked teams to play in Maui this season.
